Nigeria’s D’Tigress have reaffirmed their supremacy in African women’s basketball by securing a fifth straight FIBA Women’s AfroBasket championship, defeating Mali 78-64 in Sunday’s final.
With this victory, Nigeria becomes the first African nation to win the title five times in a row. The win also extends their incredible unbeaten run in the tournament to 29 games, a streak that began in 2015.
