2025 UTME: JAMB Probes 6,458 Candidates Over High-Tech Exam Malpractice

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has launched a probe into 6,458 candidates suspected of engaging in technology-driven exam malpractice during the 2025 UTME.

At the inauguration of a 23-member Special Committee on Examination Infraction in Abuja, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede described the rise in sophisticated cheating methods — including biometric fraud, image blending, finger pairing, and identity switching.

He stressed that while 141 routine malpractice cases are being handled by JAMB’s disciplinary committee, this new committee will investigate more complex infractions linked to accredited CBT centres and candidates.

“Exam malpractice must be fought with every drop of blood,” Oloyede warned, adding that failure to act could damage the nation’s integrity.
