The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has confirmed that recent flash floods in the state have resulted in the death of one person and affected 2,634 residents across 14 communities.
Speaking in response to the disaster in Potiskum Local Government Area, following heavy rainfall, SEMA Executive Secretary, Mohammed Goje, said the agency—working in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)—is actively responding to the crisis.
Goje noted that SEMA is currently delivering life-saving aid and early recovery support to affected victims in Potiskum and surrounding areas, as part of ongoing relief efforts.
