As Rivers State prepares to conclude its emergency rule on September 18th, Administrator Vice-Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd) has inaugurated nine strategic boards to strengthen governance and service delivery.
The newly constituted boards include:
- Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB)
- Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board (RSSSSB)
- Rivers State Internal Revenue Service Board (RSIRSB)
- Rivers State Microfinance Agency (RSMA)
- Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme Board
- Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Board
- Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA)
Ibas charged members to serve with urgency, integrity, and innovation, emphasising professionalism and public accountability. The statement, signed by SSA Media, Hector Igbikiowubo, called on the appointees to remain proactive and committed to their mandates.
Ibas was appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers by President Bola Tinubu following the March 18, 2025, declaration of emergency in the state.
