Senator Ned Nwoko has linked the recent turmoil in his marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels to what he claims is her struggle with drug and alcohol abuse.
His comments follow the circulation of a viral video in which Regina appears visibly distressed, alleging emotional turmoil and violence within their home. In the video, she is heard saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house I am nothing, but in my own house I am a queen. Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”
The video sparked widespread concern on social media, including a strong response from a man believed to be Regina’s brother, who vowed on Instagram to stand up for her.
In response, Senator Nwoko took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to reject the allegations of domestic abuse. Instead, he attributed the situation to what he described as Regina’s ongoing issues with substance abuse.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” he stated.
Nwoko claimed his attempts to help his wife get professional treatment have been met with resistance. “I’ve made it clear she must enter rehab—either in Asokoro or abroad, preferably Jordan, where she’ll be cut off from drugs,” he added.
He further alleged that Regina had been violent toward staff, saying she assaulted three domestic workers and caused property damage in the past two days. “She is the violent one here,” he claimed. “She’s been slapping staff and destroying cars and windows for no reason.”
Nwoko also accused individuals he named as “Sammy” and “Ann” of supplying drugs to Regina. “A scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” he alleged.
Concluding his statement, the senator emphasized that he has never been abusive towards any of his wives. “I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence,” he asserted, while urging Regina to continue her rehabilitation for the sake of her health and their relationship.
