Registration for the 2025 UTME Set to Open on January 26, with Direct Entry Sale to Follow in March
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the commencement date for the registration of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Registration will begin on January 26 and run through February 28, 2025, at all approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
During a meeting with the Commissioners for Education in Lagos on Saturday, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, revealed that the sale of the UTME application documents, in the form of ePINs, had already begun on January 19, 2025. While the application document sale started earlier, the actual registration period for candidates will begin on January 26, lasting until February 28.
Oloyede also provided details on other important dates for prospective candidates. The selection period for the UTME mock examination will end on February 16, while the sale of Direct Entry (DE) application documents and ePINs will open on March 2 and close on April 25, 2025.
The Registrar further disclosed that a total of 924 CBT centres have been provisionally listed to host the 2025 UTME and Direct Entry examinations. However, these centres will undergo a final round of screening and testing to ensure they meet all required standards before being fully accredited for the exam.
This announcement marks the start of the long-awaited preparation for the 2025 UTME, with thousands of students expected to register for the exams as they seek admission to Nigerian tertiary institutions. JAMB’s efforts to streamline the registration process and ensure a smooth conduct of exams are expected to reduce previous issues related to registration delays and administrative bottlenecks.
