JUST IN: NCAA Orders Electronic Devices Off During Takeoff and Landing

The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo has mandated that all phones and electronic devices must be switched off during takeoff and landing.

He directed all domestic airlines to update their operations manuals to reflect the new safety measure and submit them for immediate approval.

Najomo noted that, although the directive remains in effect, it may be reviewed in the future as aircraft safety technology continues to evolve. Emphasizing national safety, he also announced mock security response drills in Lagos and Abuja next week to curb unruly passenger behavior and assess readiness.
