Nigeria’s Super Eagles have slipped one spot to 44th in the newly released FIFA World Rankings, gaining 2.91 points to reach a total of 1484.26. The drop comes despite a recent run of improved performances, including two draws and a win.
They now rank just behind Paraguay and ahead of Côte d’Ivoire, which fell four places to 45th after a string of disappointing results.
At the global level, Argentina held on to its No. 1 spot despite a minor dip of 0.8 points. Spain climbed to second after adding 12.45 points, with France, England, and Brazil completing the top five. Portugal and the Netherlands each moved up a place to 6th and 7th, respectively, with Portugal recording the largest points increase in the top ten (+20.45).
Germany slipped to 9th despite maintaining their point total, while Italy dropped to 11th following a 15.73-point loss. Mexico surged four places to 13th with a notable 42.79-point boost — the biggest within the top 20. The USA and Norway also saw double-digit gains.
San Marino remains anchored at the bottom of the rankings in 210th place with 738.24 points.
