Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen played a key role as Galatasaray clinched their fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title following an entertaining 4-2 victory over Antalyaspor on Saturday.
The Istanbul giants sealed the championship with one game left to play, finishing four points ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahce, whom they defeated 3-0 in a crucial derby clash last month.
Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s successful campaign, leading the attack with impressive performances that helped the club dominate both domestically and in Europe this season.
The title-winning side also secured automatic qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League after reaching the knockout stages of this year’s competition, including a memorable victory over Juventus.
Galatasaray’s latest triumph extends their record as Turkey’s most successful club with 26 league titles and marks their first run of four consecutive championships since the late 1990s.
Meanwhile, rivals Fenerbahce continue to endure frustration, with the club now facing a 12-year league title drought — the longest in their history — prompting the dismissal of both their coach and sporting director after the recent derby defeat.
