President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially endorsed Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Lagos State.
The announcement was made by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who described the President’s endorsement as a strong vote of confidence in his deputy’s leadership capacity and commitment to the development of the state.
According to the governor, Hamzat has been a dependable partner in governance, contributing significantly to the administration’s efforts in driving growth and transformation across Lagos. He noted that the President’s backing reflects trust, assurance, and recognition of Hamzat’s ability to lead the state into its next phase of development.
Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the ongoing vision for a greater Lagos would be sustained under Hamzat’s leadership, emphasizing that while progress has been made, there is still much work ahead.
