President Bola Tinubu has postponed the start of his planned three-country visit to Sunday, moving it from the earlier scheduled Saturday departure.
The update was confirmed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter). No official reason was provided for the change.
The President is expected to depart Abuja for visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
According to earlier details, Tinubu will first stop in France before heading to Nairobi, where he is scheduled to participate in the Africa-France Summit. The event will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.
The summit, set for May 11–12, will address key issues such as energy transition, digital transformation, and climate action. Tinubu’s participation is expected to reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with African countries and France.
Following the Kenya engagement, the President will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum, scheduled for May 14–15. The forum, organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation, will bring together policymakers and business leaders to discuss investment and economic growth across Africa.
During both events, Tinubu is expected to outline his administration’s economic reforms and engage with top global and African business figures. He will be accompanied by several ministers and senior government officials.
