Partnerships Are the Only Way to Address Food Insecurity – Tinubu

To achieve security and stability, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged African leaders to reject protectionism. He claims that the world’s problems with armed conflict and food insecurity can only be solved through alliances built on mutual respect, equity, and inclusivity.

In his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, the president delivered the charge on Thursday in Beijing, China, during a high-level conference on peace and security at the 2024 Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

In his words, “If we are to achieve lasting peace, security, stability, and prosperity for future generations, we must embrace multilateralism, reject protectionism, and strengthen cooperative partnership.”

President Tinubu praised China’s contributions to Africa’s development through programs like the Belt and Road and FOCAC while reiterating Nigeria’s commitment to advancing peace, good governance, and security throughout West Africa.
