The Africa Cup of Nations 2027 will take place from June 19 to July 17, according to an announcement made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Saturday.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, although CAF has yet to determine which nation will stage the opening match and the final.
The schedule received approval from the FIFA Council during a meeting held in Vancouver, Canada. Earlier concerns about the readiness of the host countries were addressed, with CAF President Patrice Motsepe rejecting any suggestion of postponing the tournament to 2028.
Motsepe reaffirmed CAF’s commitment to hosting the competition in East Africa, expressing confidence that the three nations will successfully deliver a memorable tournament.
This edition will be historic as the first AFCON to be hosted across three countries. It also marks the return of the tournament to East Africa for the first time since the 1976 edition held in Ethiopia.
