Air Peace has temporarily suspended its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick flight after a routine technical check detected a minor fault on the aircraft shortly after passenger boarding.
The airline disclosed in a statement that the issue was identified during a post-boarding inspection, prompting the immediate withdrawal of the aircraft from service in line with standard safety procedures.
According to Air Peace, all passengers were safely disembarked while engineers moved swiftly to address the fault, stressing that passenger safety and crew wellbeing remain the airline’s highest priority.
The carrier acknowledged the inconvenience caused to travellers but maintained that taking preventive action was the most responsible decision under the circumstances.
To reduce further disruption, the airline said affected passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and necessary support services while arrangements were made for a replacement aircraft to be dispatched from London.
Air Peace assured customers that the delayed flight is expected to depart later this morning and thanked passengers for their patience, understanding and continued trust in the airline’s operations.
