Caleb Mutfwang on Monday visited the Nbra Zongo community in Bassa Local Government Area following a deadly attack that left at least 11 people dead and several others critically injured.
The governor visited the affected community alongside Bernard Doro to sympathise with grieving families and assess the situation after Friday night’s attack.
Addressing residents during the visit, Governor Mutfwang assured the community that no part of Plateau State would be ceded to terrorists or criminal elements.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to restoring peace and strengthening security across vulnerable communities in the state.
The governor also commended residents for maintaining calm and refraining from taking the law into their own hands despite the provocation and loss suffered during the attack.
Mutfwang further encouraged farmers to prepare for the upcoming farming season, assuring them that the government is working closely with security agencies to create a safer environment for agricultural activities.
Meanwhile, Minister Bernard Doro, who hails from Irigwe land, expressed condolences to the victims and pledged the Federal Government’s continued support for affected families.
He stated that the Federal Government would intensify efforts to protect lives and property while also providing relief materials and humanitarian assistance to those displaced or impacted by the violence.
The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents that have affected communities in Plateau State, raising concerns over insecurity and the protection of rural communities.
