The government of Togo has announced the removal of visa requirements for citizens of all African countries entering the nation for short stays of up to 30 days.
According to a statement from Togo’s Ministry of Security, the new policy is aimed at strengthening African integration, improving mobility, and expanding opportunities for cooperation across the continent.
Under the new arrangement, African travellers holding valid national passports can now enter Togo without a visa for short visits, although they are still required to complete an online travel declaration at least 24 hours before arrival to obtain a travel slip.
The government described the reform as part of its broader vision to make Togo a hub of openness and regional cooperation in Africa.
The policy follows similar visa-free initiatives introduced by countries such as Rwanda, and comes as several African governments continue to ease travel restrictions to boost trade, tourism, and integration.
