Bola Shobowale, the Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has passed away following a long battle with illness. Her death marks the end of a difficult period in which she had been absent from office for nearly a year due to health complications.
Shobowale passed just three days after Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed the council’s Vice Chairman, Oladipupo Oluwaloni, as Acting Chairman. This decision addressed the leadership gap that had impacted the council’s operations.
Throughout her tenure, Shobowale was recognized for her commitment to grassroots development and community involvement. Her prolonged absence created uncertainty within the LCDA, prompting the state government to step in and appoint an acting leader.
Residents and political figures have begun offering their condolences, reflecting on her significant contributions to local governance, including her work in infrastructure, social welfare, and economic empowerment within the Ayobo-Ipaja community.
As the LCDA transitions under Oluwaloni’s leadership, stakeholders are hopeful that the council will regain its stability and continue Shobowale’s legacy of service. Further details regarding burial arrangements and official tributes are expected to be announced by the state government and LCDA administration.
