At least 20 women and young girls have been abducted by bandits in Moriki town, Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State. According to a local resident, Sufyanu Moriki, the victims were taken on Saturday while collecting firewood on the outskirts of the community.
“They went out to fetch firewood when they were kidnapped by the armed group. So far, no contact has been made by the kidnappers,” he said.
Police authorities in Zamfara have yet to confirm the incident.
