Ridwanullah Isaq has emerged as the overall winner of the 3rd Abdulganiyu Olusegun Awokoya Camping Programme and Quranic Competition.
The 16-year-old from Oyo State took first place following rigorous rounds of memorization and recitation, competing against 27 other participants. Oreagba Zainab Opeyemi and Malik Fawzan Mubarak emerged in second and third place, respectively.
The annual 3 day event, organized by the Onirete of Irete Land, Oba Abdulganiyu Olusegun Awokoya, is designed to immerse young Muslims in essential skills and bridge the gap between theological belief and character development.
Speaking on the theme, “Tawhid in Principle and Adab in Practice,” the lead Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Dhikrullah Shafii, urged Youths to focus on imbibing the principles of Monotheism and the refined etiquette required to excel in all spheres of life. Other distinguished Scholars, including Ustaz Abdullah Davies and Dr. Isa Tosin, delivered lectures aimed at grounding the participants in these core values and healthy Living.
While the Quranic recitation showcased spiritual mastery, the Organizers emphasized that faith must be backed by works.Coordinator of the Programme, Imam Qasim Funmilayo, noted that beyond spiritual growth, the event was designed to feature more than just the upliftment of the deen ; it included a robust empowerment scheme prioritizing the economic and physical well-being of over 400 participants. The vocational training offered free skills acquisition in high-demand fields, including Graphic Design, Social Media Management, Screen Printing, Cake Making, Event Styling, Bead Craft, and the production of liquid detergents and disinfectants.
Participants also benefited from a comprehensive free health outreach, which included dental makeovers, general health screenings, and professional counseling sessions.
Cash prizes of N1,000,000, N500,000, and N250,000 were awarded to the first, second, and third-place Winners, respectively. Other participants also received cash prizes and various gift items.
