Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation WUTAN DAJI have rescued eight kidnapped victims during a clearance operation in Kumbodoro Forest and surrounding communities in Bauchi State.
The operation targeted known bandit hideouts, including the notorious Azuge camps, with support from the Air Component. Several bandits were neutralised, and key operational bases dismantled.
Security forces also recovered a cache of weapons and items, including rifles, magazines, communication devices, and other materials linked to criminal activities.
In a separate operation, troops working with local vigilantes recovered 36 cows believed to have been abandoned by fleeing bandits, with efforts underway to return them to their rightful owners.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations aimed at restoring peace and denying criminal elements safe haven.
