Lagos State has taken delivery of a new set of 24-car trains to strengthen operations on the Red Line rail project.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced this in a post on X, noting that the additional trains will increase capacity, reduce waiting times, and improve daily commuting for residents.
According to him, the new rolling stock is part of ongoing efforts to build a more efficient and reliable transport system in the state.
The Lagos Red Line began commercial operations on October 15, 2024, after its official commissioning by President Bola Tinubu earlier in February.
The rail corridor runs from Agbado to Oyingbo, with key stations at Iju, Agege, Mushin, Oshodi, and Yaba. It is expected to transport up to 500,000 passengers daily when fully operational.
