Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Ogun East ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The result was announced by the returning officer for the district, Wale Bello, at Itoro Hall in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area. According to the announcement, Abiodun secured 75,560 votes out of 99,503 registered voters across the nine local government areas in the district.
In his acceptance speech, Abiodun attributed his victory to God and the strong support of party members and loyalists. He thanked APC supporters for their confidence in him and promised not to betray the trust placed in him by the electorate.
The primary election is part of the APC’s nationwide preparations for the 2027 general elections.
