Paris Saint-Germain defeated Bayern Munich 5-4 in a sensational first-leg clash of the UEFA Champions League semi-final, in what has become the highest-scoring match at this stage of the tournament.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele both netted twice for PSG in a breathtaking encounter at the Parc des Princes.
Bayern had taken an early lead through Harry Kane from the penalty spot, but PSG responded quickly, with Kvaratskhelia leveling before Joao Neves put the hosts ahead.
Michael Olise equalised for Bayern, but Dembele restored PSG’s lead before halftime. The French champions extended their advantage after the break, with both Kvaratskhelia and Dembele completing their braces to make it 5-2.
However, Bayern staged a late comeback through Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz, reducing the deficit to 5-4 and keeping the tie finely balanced.
The second leg will take place at the Allianz Arena, with both sides still in contention for a place in the final in Budapest on May 30.
