Jannik Sinner has called for a review of late-night match scheduling at the Madrid Open after progressing to the quarter-finals.
The world number one defeated Cameron Norrie 6-2, 7-5 in an unusual early start, raising concerns over player recovery following late finishes.
Sinner pointed to the case of Rafael Jodar, who finished a match at 1:00 am, stressing the need for better scheduling to protect players’ health and performance.
The Italian star now advances as he continues his dominant run at the Masters 1000 level, eyeing a first semi-final appearance in Madrid.
