President Bola Tinubu has departed Nigeria for France, marking the start of a three-country diplomatic visit that will also include Kenya and Rwanda.
The presidential aircraft left the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Sunday, signalling the commencement of the tour focused on strengthening economic ties and attracting foreign investment.
According to the presidency, Tinubu’s itinerary begins in France before he travels to Nairobi to attend the Africa–France Summit scheduled for May 11–12. The summit will be co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, and will address key issues such as energy transition, climate action, digital innovation, and economic cooperation.
During the summit, the Nigerian leader is expected to hold discussions with global leaders and investors as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s economic partnerships.
Following the Kenya engagement, Tinubu will head to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum from May 14–15. The forum will bring together leading business executives and policymakers to explore investment opportunities and strategies for economic growth across the continent.
The presidency noted that the trip highlights Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging international engagements to boost development and expand its global partnerships.
