Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Desmond Elliot, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to contest for a return to the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere Constituency I.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, Elliot formally announced his intention to seek another mandate, describing the move as a continuation of his service to the people of Surulere.
He said his decision was driven by a commitment to consolidate ongoing development efforts and further advance the aspirations of his constituents.
Elliot also appealed for calm and unity among his supporters, urging them to remain peaceful and focused as the political process unfolds.
According to him, returning to the Assembly would make him a ranking member, which he believes would bring added benefits and stronger representation to his constituency.
The lawmaker expressed gratitude to party leaders, stakeholders, and residents for their continued support, pledging to remain committed to service and collaboration.
His announcement comes shortly after he dismissed reports of any rift with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, now Chief of Staff to the President, reaffirming loyalty and asking for continued political support.
