Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi as the new General Manager of Lagos Television (LTV).
The official transition took place on Wednesday at the Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, where the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, formally presented Oyekanmi with his appointment letter. This appointment follows the disengagement of the former General Manager, Mrs. Sola Kosoko.
During the presentation ceremony, Mr. Agoro expressed strong confidence in Oyekanmi’s ability to reposition LTV and enhance its competitive edge within the media industry. Describing him as a seasoned communications professional, Agoro who emphasized that Oyekanmi’s vast experience in both the public and private sectors makes him the ideal helmsman for this new chapter said his appointment is strategic to strengthen the state-owned broadcast Station.
Mr. Oyekanmi brings over 30 years of professional expertise to the role, spanning advertising, public relations, and global export services. His journey in public service began on March 1, 2000, as a Public Affairs Practitioner within the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy.
Most recently, he served as the Director of the Strategy Centre at the Ministry, a position he held since 2022. An indigene of Isale Eko, Lagos Island, Oyekanmi has earned numerous accolades throughout his career for his dedication to journalism and public communication.
The new General Manager holds an impressive academic background, including Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Lagos.
Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Education from Lagos State University.
He is a recognized member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Beyond the newsroom, Oyekanmi is an avid reader and lawn tennis enthusiast. He currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club, reflecting his ongoing commitment to leadership and communication excellence.
