Several communities in Ogun State will experience a six-hour power outage on Thursday, May 14, 2026, following a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
The outage, scheduled between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., is due to preventive maintenance on the 40MVA 132/33kV transformer at the McPherson Transmission Substation.
According to TCN, the maintenance is necessary to carry out routine checks aimed at ensuring the continued efficient performance of the equipment.
During the exercise, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to supply power to customers in the McPherson, University, and Ogunmakin axis.
TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, explained that the maintenance is part of ongoing efforts to sustain reliable electricity delivery across the network.
