The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in an appeal filed by former Senate President, David Mark, concerning the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
A five-member panel of the apex court, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, announced on Wednesday that the date for judgment would be communicated to counsel representing the parties after they had adopted their written arguments and made their respective submissions.
Justice Garba stated that the court would deliver its ruling after considering all briefs and prayers presented by the parties involved.
The appeal, marked SC/CV/180/2026, challenges the March 12 judgment of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed Mark’s appeal against an earlier ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The lower court had refused to grant injunctive reliefs sought in an ex-parte application filed by ADC chieftain Nafiu Bala Gombe.
The case stems from an ongoing internal leadership tussle within the ADC, which has continued to generate legal battles over control and party structure.
The Supreme Court is expected to issue its final decision at a later date.
