Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has held a closed-door meeting with 2027 presidential aspirant Peter Obi at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan.
Obi was accompanied by prominent South-East political figures, including Sam Egwu, Okwesilieze Nwodo, Achike Udenwa, Ben Obi, Oseloka Obaze, and Onyema Ugochukwu.
Speaking after the meeting, Obi disclosed that the visit was part of ongoing consultations on a proposed political coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, as well as broader discussions on Nigeria’s future.
He emphasized that the talks were focused on building “a better Nigeria,” stressing the need for unity, security, and economic transformation.
According to him, Nigerians should expect a shift from a consumption-driven economy to a production-based system that will drive job creation and inclusive growth.
The meeting signals growing political realignments and coalition-building efforts as stakeholders begin early consultations ahead of the 2027 elections.
