Lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has picked up the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for President Bola Tinubu, marking the formal start of his 2027 re-election bid.
The forms were obtained at the Abuja Continental Hotel during the commencement of sales by the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Faleke paying the required ₦100 million on behalf of the President.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Assembly elections will hold on February 6, 2027.
INEC also outlined that party primaries will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026, with campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections set to begin on August 19, 2026.
Meanwhile, the APC has released a revised timetable detailing key activities, including screening, appeals, and primaries, which are expected to run from mid-May 2026.
The party also announced nomination fees across positions, with presidential aspirants required to pay ₦30 million for Expression of Interest and ₦70 million for Nomination forms. Concessions were granted to women, youths, and persons with disabilities.
This development signals the official kickoff of political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
