The Lagos State Government has debunked reports alleging that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been directed to resign on health grounds, describing the claim as entirely false and misleading.
In an official clarification, authorities stated that the governor remains in good health, mentally sound, and fully engaged in his responsibilities as the leader of Lagos State.
The statement further explained that Governor Sanwo-Olu earlier received the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, during a routine courtesy visit in which Hamzat formally informed him of his intention to contest for the governorship. The meeting, according to the government, was cordial and in line with established protocol.
Officials expressed concern over what they described as a pattern of misinformation from Sahara Reporters, noting that the latest publication was another example of deliberate falsehood aimed at misleading the public.
While such reports are often ignoed, the government said it deemed it necessary to respond in order to reassure residents and prevent the spread of inaccurate information.
The public has therefore been urged to disregard the report and rely on verified sources for credible updates on government affairs.
