Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has stepped down from the Lagos State governorship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His withdrawal follows the party’s endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as its consensus candidate for the 2027 election.
Jandor explained that his decision was driven by party unity and discipline rather than a lack of capacity, reaffirming his loyalty to the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He pledged full support for the party’s choice and urged his supporters to align with the decision.
The former PDP governorship candidate said the move was finalised during a meeting in Abuja and stressed the importance of party cohesion and strategic alignment.
He also thanked members of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, noting that its goals of equity, inclusion, and a better Lagos remain intact despite his withdrawal.
