The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, detailing key activities including nomination processes, screening, primaries, and its special national convention.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the schedule underscores ADC’s commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and strict adherence to electoral guidelines.
According to the timetable, the sale of nomination forms will take place from May 5 to May 10, 2026, while submission of completed forms is slated for May 11 to May 13, 2026. Screening of aspirants will be conducted between May 14 and May 15, with results to be released on May 17. Appeals are scheduled for May 18 and May 19, while the final list of cleared candidates will be published on May 20, 2026.
Primary elections will begin on May 21, 2026, covering State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate positions at the ward level. Governorship primaries are fixed for May 22, while the presidential primary will hold on May 25, 2026.
This will be followed by a meeting of the National Executive Committee on May 26 and a Special National Convention on May 27, where final ratifications are expected.
The party also announced its nomination fees: N100 million for presidential aspirants, N50 million for governorship, N20 million for Senate, N10 million for House of Representatives, and N3 million for State House of Assembly seats.
In a bid to encourage broader participation, ADC introduced concessions, offering a 50 percent discount for youths and a 25 percent discount for women and persons with disabilities.
The party urged all stakeholders and aspirants to comply strictly with the outlined timetable and guidelines.
