The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has officially announced Jamilu Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting chaired by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who also serves as the party leader in the state.
At the meeting, party stakeholders also ratified consensus candidates for the three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives seats, and all 24 State House of Assembly constituencies in Gombe State.
The gathering brought together governorship aspirants, National Assembly and State Assembly contenders, members of the State Working Committee, party elders, and other key stakeholders, alongside APC officials from the North-East zone.
According to party sources, the consensus arrangement followed extensive consultations led by Governor Yahaya, aimed at strengthening internal unity, reducing disputes, and presenting a united front ahead of the 2027 elections.
The move is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the governor to consolidate party cohesion and reinforce the APC structure across the state.
For the Senate, those adopted include DCP Mohammed Deba for Gombe Central, Jerry Damara for Gombe South, and Governor Yahaya for Gombe North.
For the House of Representatives, candidates include Usman Kumo (Akko), Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Ali J.C. (Balanga/Billiri), Fatima Bello (Kaltungo/Shongom), Saddam Bello (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye), and Jamilu Shabewa (Dukku/Nafada).
